How can I get a Visa for Egypt

Ways to Obtain your Egypt Visa There are three ways you can obtain your visa for Egypt: Visa on Arrival: Available at most international airports in Egypt for eligible nationalities. e-Visa (Online Application): Apply online prior to your trip through Egypt's official e-visa portal. Consulate Visa: Apply in person or by mail at your nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate before travelling. Note: Not all nationalities are eligible for an Egypt visa on arrival or an online e-Visa; in such cases, they must apply at an Egyptian embassy. 1. Applying for a Visa-on-Arrival Citizens of around 70 countries and territories can obtain a visitor visa on arrival at Egypt’s international airports. Join the queue at a bank kiosk before the immigration desk. Show your passport (with at least two blank pages) and complete a visa application form. You may need to show additional travel documents, such as proof of onward travel. Once approved, a visa sticker will be affixed to your passport, allowing entry for up to 30 days. Fee: $25 (cash only). Note: Queues can be long, especially December and February. Denial of visa requires amending or repurchasing flights. 2. Applying for an Online E-Visa Eligible travelers can apply via the Egypt e-Visa Portal . Set up an account, apply for the visa, follow instructions, pay the fee. Processing usually takes less than 7 days, sometimes same day. 3. Applying for a Consulate Visa For those ineligible for Visa-on-Arrival or e-Visa, or who prefer in-person application. Find your nearest Egyptian consulate or embassy. Submit required documents: completed application form, valid passport (≥6 months), passport photos, proof of travel, and visa fee. Some consulates require appointments. Processing: 5–10 business days, faster options may be available for a fee. Receive visa in person or by mail. This ensures you receive an official visa before traveling and is reliable for longer stays or travelers not eligible for other visa type

How much money should I bring with me ?

It is difficult to determine an exact amount of money to spend on a trip to Egypt. However, we recommend that you budget for around 25 to 50 USD per person per day (at a minimum). Your extra expenses will include items like drinks, gifts, tips, excluded entrance fees, and laundry. While many establishments accept bank cards and select foreign currencies, it is strongly recommended that you exchange your money for Egyptian pounds and carry ample cash and small change when sightseeing.

Tipping, or "baksheesh," is a customary and appreciated way to show gratitude for services in Egypt. Tips are often given to hotel staff, drivers, guides, restaurant staff, and other service workers. While tipping is not mandatory, it is generally expected for good service. In restaurants, a tip of around 10-15% of the bill is standard. For hotel staff, small tips for services like luggage handling or housekeeping are common. Tour guides and drivers often receive a tip based on the duration and quality of the service. Always carry small bills in Egyptian pounds for tipping, as this makes it easier to offer tips in various situations.

Day 1Cairo, Pyramids & Grand Museum

Start your morning with a hotel pick-up and head to the Giza Plateau. Explore the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus with your guide. Take photos beside the Great Sphinx and visit the Valley Temple. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Inside, discover the mission, architecture, and heritage displays of the museum, and enjoy optional interactive experiences. Wrap up with a walk through the landscaped gardens and shopping area before returning to your Cairo hotel. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner – drinks extra. Overnight in: Cairo Hotel.
Day 2Flight to Aswan, Abu Simbel & Cruise Embarkation

Arrive in Aswan and meet your representative. Take a morning tour to Abu Simbel Temple, then transfer to the Nile Cruise for check-in. Enjoy lunch on board and free time to relax. In the evening, entertainment and dinner are provided. Meals: Lunch / Dinner – drinks extra. Overnight in: Aswan.
Day 3Sail from Aswan – Kom Ombo – Edfu

Breakfast on board, then visit the Temple of Philae and the High Dam. Optional visit to a Nubian Village. In the afternoon, sail to Kom Ombo to explore the temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus. Day 4Sail from Edfu – Luxor via Esna Lock

Day 5West Bank, Disembarkation & Kharga Oasis

Optional hot air balloon ride in Luxor at sunrise. After breakfast, visit Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and Colossi of Memnon. Return to the cruise, collect luggage, and begin desert excursion to Kharga Oasis. Meals: Breakfast only – drinks extra. Overnight in: Kharga Oasis.
Day 6Kharga and Dakhla Oasis

Breakfast then visit Deir El Hagar Temple and Muzzawaka. Explore the Islamic village of Al Qasr with Ayubid mosque ruins. Lunch en route, then visit El Bagawat Cemetery, Hibis Temple, and Nadora (outside view). Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner – drinks extra. Overnight in: Dakhla.
Day 7Travel to Black and White Deserts

After breakfast in Dakhla, travel towards the White Desert. Stops include Green Spring, El-Marssos Mountain, El-Hez Village, Crystal Mountain, and Agabat area. In the evening, camp under the stars with dinner. Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner – drinks extra. Overnight in: Desert Camp.
Day 8Bahariya Oasis – Salty Lake – Cairo

Lunch on arrival. Explore Bahariya’s Date Gardens, Salty Lake, dunes, Pyramid Mountain, and English Mountain. Return drive to Cairo (4–5 hours). Check in at hotel and enjoy dinner. Meals: Lunch / Dinner – drinks extra. Overnight in: Cairo.
Day 9Cairo – Fly Back Home

Breakfast at hotel, then free time depending on your flight schedule. Optional last-minute shopping or short visits to Cairo highlights. Transfer to Cairo International Airport for departure. Meals: Breakfast only – drinks extra.
