How can I get a Visa for Egypt

Ways to Obtain your Egypt Visa. Ways to Obtain your Egypt Visa There are three ways you can obtain your visa for Egypt: Visa on arrival: Available at most international airports in Egypt for eligible nationalities. e-Visa (Online Application): Apply online prior to trip through Egypt's official e-visa portal. Consulate Visa: Apply in person or by mail at your nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate before travelling. However, not all nationalities are eligible for an Egypt visa on arrival or an online e-Visa, in which case they will need to apply for their visa at an Egyptian embassy. 1. Applying for a Visa-on-Arrival The citizens of around 70 different countries and territories can obtain a valid visitor visa on arrival at any of Egypt’s international airports. Theoretically, you should be able to get an entry visa on arrival at any international port or border crossing, but in reality, this simply isn’t the case. To obtain your visa on arrival at the airport, join the queue at a bank kiosk before you reach the immigration desks. You will need to show your passport with at least two blank pages, and complete a visa application form. You may also be asked to show one or two other travel documents, such as proof of onward travel. Once your application has been approved, you will be given a sticker to give to an officer at one of the immigration desks. The sticker will be affixed to one of the blank pages in your passport and you will then be free to enter Egypt. It should be noted that a visa on arrival is a single-entry tourist visa that allows you to remain in the country for up to 30 days. The visa fee must be paid in cash. Credit card and debit card payments are not accepted. As of the time of writing, a visa-on-arrival costs $25. Be warned. The queues at the bank kiosks can be very long, especially during the peak tourist season from December to February. Also, note that if for some reason you are denied a visa, you will not be allowed entry into the country, and you will either amend your return flight date or purchase a new flight ticket. 2. Applying for an Online E-Visa Citizens who are eligible for a visa-on-arrival are also eligible for an Egypt online e-Visa. If you are traveling to Egypt for tourism purposes, this is the most convenient way to obtain your visa. Simply visit the official Egypt e-Visa Portal and set up an account. Once done, log into your account, apply for your visa, and follow the on-screen instructions. It really is that easy. Once you have submitted your application and paid the visa fee, your application will typically be processed in less than 7 days, and sometimes even on the same day. 3. Applying for a Consulate Visa If you are not eligible for an e-Visa or Visa on Arrival, or if you prefer to apply in person, you can obtain your visa by visiting an Egyptian consulate or embassy in your country. Start by finding the nearest Egyptian consulate or embassy that accepts visa applications from your region. You can do this by checking online or contacting the consulate directly. Then, review the visa requirements carefully. Most consulates will ask for a completed visa application form, a valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity, recent passport-sized photos, proof of travel such as flight and hotel bookings, and the visa fee. Each consulate may have slightly different requirements, so it’s best to confirm the details with them. Some consulates require you to book an appointment before submitting your application. Check the consulate’s website or contact them to see if this applies. Once you’re ready, submit your application in person or by mail (if permitted). Be sure all your documents are correct and complete to avoid delays. Visa processing usually takes between five and ten business days. Some consulates may offer faster processing for an additional fee. Once your visa is ready, the consulate will notify you. You can then collect it in person or receive it by mail, depending on the service options provided. This process ensures you receive an official visa before traveling to Egypt and is a reliable option for those who need a longer stay or are not eligible for electronic or on-arrival visas.

Are tours to Egypt Safe ?

Egypt has served as one of the best and safest tourist destinations for many years. Surrounded by warm hospitality, courteous and kind-hearted locals – you’ll feel at home and as safe as you’ll ever be. With some sensible precautions and preparations, you will be able to explore Egypt tours and trips and enjoy Egypt’s generally safe cities with ease. Claiming a usually low crime rate visitors are usually safe especially in areas frequently visited by tourists.

How much money should I bring with me ?

It is difficult to determine an exact amount of spending money to take on a trip to Egypt. However, we recommend that you budget for around 25 to 50 USD per person per day (at a minimum). Your extra expenses will include items like drinks, gifts, tips, excluded entrance fees, and laundry. While many establishments accept bank cards and select foreign currencies, it is strongly recommended to exchange your money for Egyptian pounds and carry ample cash and small change when sightseeing.

Tipping, or 'baksheesh', is a customary and appreciated way to show gratitude for services in Egypt. Tips are often given to hotel staff, drivers, guides, restaurant staff, and other service workers. While tipping is not mandatory, it is generally expected for good service. In restaurants, a tip of around 10–15% of the bill is standard. For hotel staff, small tips for services like luggage handling or housekeeping are also common. Tour guides and drivers often receive a tip based on the duration and quality of the service. Always carry small bills in Egyptian pounds for tipping, as this makes it easier to offer tips in various situations.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

The cancellation terms are based on how close to the departure date you cancel your reservation: – If you cancel 90 days or more before departure, you will lose your deposit. – If you cancel between 60 and 89 days before – departure, you will incur a 50% loss. – If you cancel between 30 and 59 days before departure, you will incur a 70% loss. – If you cancel 29 days or less before departure, you will incur a 100% loss.

Day 1Arrival Cairo – Gateway to Ancient Wonders

Your Discover Egypt Ultimate Odyssey begins as you arrive in Cairo, where an Egypt Revealed Tours team member will greet you at the airport for your arrival process, hotel check-in, itinerary review, and other options. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring or relaxing as you prepare for the Heritage Experience ahead. Overnight. Meals: No meals, but welcome drink only.
Day 2Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum

Start the day with breakfast at your hotel in Cairo. You'll be met by your guide, who will accompany you to the Giza Plateau to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, the famous Sphinx, and the Valley Temple facing the Great Statue. Lunch: one of the restaurants on the plateau with a view of the pyramids. Next, visit the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum, showcasing thousands of artifacts, including all the treasures from King Tutankhamun’s tomb. Then you'll return to your hotel. Overnight. Day 3Saqqara & Dahshur – Unveiling Egypt’s Earliest Pyramids

Visit the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the Unas Pyramid Complex, the tomb of Kagemni, and the Imhotep Museum in Saqqara. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then continue to Dahshur to see the Bent Pyramid and the Red (North) Pyramid, both built for Pharaoh Sneferu over 4,000 years ago. Day 4Alexandria – The Pearl of the Mediterranean

Take a scenic drive to Alexandria, Egypt’s Mediterranean jewel. Visit the legendary Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the stunning Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Citadel of Qaitbay (built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria). Day 5Alexandria – Return to Cairo
